This Technology Roadmap Template is a great way to start off a relationship with a client.
You can either offer it for free (I wouldn’t recommend it) or offer it for a reasonable amount (our recommended way)
A good tactic to help close the sale, is to offer this audit for a reasonable amount (e.g. $1,000 – $2,000 for a 20 seat business) and then if the client signs up with you and starts implementing your recommendations in order, you deduct the amount of the audit from their first invoice / project.
Whilst we pitch this as a document that the client can go and take to any other IT company (it makes for an easy close), in the many years of using a process similar to this in my own Technology Business, we never had a client go and “shop”it elsewhere. They always signed up with us long term and it started off the relationship on the right foot.
